1. High-Performance Laminated Insulated Glass System
The tower facade adopts a configuration of low-iron laminated glass (outer pane) combined with low-iron tempered insulated glass (inner pane). This system was engineered to achieve a balance between transparency and performance — enhanced light transmission through low-iron glass, improved acoustic performance of approximately 40 dB (significantly better than conventional IGU systems), optimized safety with heat-strengthened outer panes minimizing spontaneous breakage risk, and superior flatness control by optimizing stress levels and glass thickness.
2. Large-Span Point-Supported Glass System
At the podium level, the project features a large-span cable-supported point-fixed glass facade with a maximum span of 25.9 meters. Given that the main structure could not directly support the curtain wall load, our technical team worked closely with the project engineers to optimize glass specifications and load transfer paths. This resulted in a safe and reliable glass solution that meets both structural and architectural requirements.
3. Double-Curved Low-Iron Glass — "Lotus" Feature Facade
The "Lotus" feature facade utilizes double-curved low-iron glass requiring high-precision manufacturing. The original design specified glass panels up to 6.8 meters in height, exceeding most processing capabilities. We collaborated with the project team to optimize the panel height to 6 meters, maintaining design intent while significantly improving manufacturability and cost efficiency.
For areas where the standard 12mm + 12mm configuration did not meet structural requirements, we introduced a customized slot-in fixing system that enhanced load capacity without increasing overall glass thickness — ensuring safety while avoiding additional cost and facade unevenness.
4. Project Outcome
Through close technical collaboration and continuous optimization, LIYUAN Glass successfully delivered high-transparency low-risk low-iron glass systems, high acoustic performance laminated insulated glass solutions, advanced double-curved glass processing capabilities, and safe glass solutions for large-span structural systems.
